Based on Grimm's fairy tale of the same name, 'The Juniper Tree' is a haunting and beautifully written fable by the acclaimed author of 'The Vet's Daughter'. In their idyllic garden, Gertrude and Bernard forge a perfect triangle of friendship with Bella, the scarred mother of an illegitimate child. Then Gertrude conceives the child which has long eluded her, and the spell breaks into foreboding, menace and madness. Simply told yet utterly compelling, 'The Juniper Tree' is a multifaceted jewel of a tale, exquisitely written, by a true original.
