Synopsis

The first section of the book considers the evolution and development of habitat structure, the effect of habitat on the distribution of species and the relationship between habitat and species-area. The second part considers the colonization and resource use of habitats including that by arboreal, vertebrate and terrestrial communities and sap-feeding herbivores, coral reef fishes and marine benthic systems. The book also examines the effect that changes in habitat structure have on species.
