There is also extensive treatment of the main civil law building blocks of the subject, including consumer credit, unfair contracts, product liability and the consumer aspects of sale of goods. The criminal or regulatory side includes extensive chapters on trade descriptions, fair trading and safety. Weights and measures and food law are also introduced, subjects which though vital for some readers are usually omitted from student texts. The institutions, public or private, set up to assist consumers are also examined.This new edition is thoroughly updated to include all the latest legislative changes, case law, reports and reform proposals since the last edition.
