Synopsis
Since 1901, the Boston Red Sox have enjoyed the adulation of baseball devotees throughout New England. This revised and expanded anthology of writing on the Red Sox aims to capture the heartbreak, humour and high tension of nine decades, from the origins of "The Green Monster" bounding Fenway's left field, to the legendary "Hall of Fame" players Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski. It contains extracts from books, magazines and newspapers, and essays by literary figures. The revised and expanded edition includes extracts from "The Curse of the Bambino" by Dan Shaughnessy and a piece by David Halberstam.
About the Author
Dan Riley has been a contributor to numerous books, magazines, and newspapers. He has worked as a crime reporter in Connecticut, as a high school English teacher in New Hampshire, and as a copywriter in California. He lives in California.
