Very Good in Three Volumes: Each book shows some faint dampstaining to the heel of the backstrip; former owner's name inscribed at the upper corner of the front free endpaper of each volume; Volume III shows a small, rather faint smudge at the lower front panel, a superficial scuff just below it, and a couple of small faint stains to the bottom edge of the rear panel; the other volumes exteriors are clean and unsoiled but shows very mild rubbing; the text pages have tanned somewhat due to the aging process; the binding of Volume III leans slightly, the others are square and secure; the texts are clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. A carefully-used set, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing mild wear and minor, unobtrusive imperfections. The production values are higher than one normally associates with "Book Club" productions, though post-War materials shortages may account for the smaller format and lower quality paper. Lack DJs.
