Synopsis
This long-awaited anthology celebrates the experience of Native American womenan important contribution to our literature. From people who value stories and songs from literary traditions as encompassing and intricate as the written literary traditions of Europe, this is the most comprehensive anthology of its kind to collect the poetry, fiction, prayer, and memoir from Native American women. About the Authors
Gloria Bird lives in Nespelem, Washington.
Joy Harjo is a member of the Mvskoke Nation. She is the author of several poetry collections, memoirs, children’s books, and music albums. She is the recipient of many awards for her creative work, including a National Humanities Medal. She lives in Oklahoma.
