This sequel to "Risk Society", which redefined social statification, now examines the politics of the risk society. It is based on the assumption that the ecological issue is a systematized, legalized violation of civil rights and that, therefore, it is the successor to industrial conflict.
About the Author
Ulrich Beck is Professor of Sociology at the University of Munich. He is the author of Counterpoison (1991) and Ecological Enlightenment (1992).
