Synopsis
ICALEO 86, the first symposium of its kind, was divided into three sections highlighting activity in three geographical regions: Europe, the Far East and North America. A final section dealt with a variety of practical questions relating to laser processing applications. Invited papers were given on "Materials Processing in Europe", "Fundamental Characteristics of High Energy Density Beams", "Practical Applications of Laser Materials Processing", and "Influence of System Parameters on Laser Materials Processing Performance".
