Actor Randall, also noted as a highly entertaining storyteller, has compiled his best show business stories with the help of Mindlin, a close friend and also a raconteur. Unlike David Niven's The Moon's a Balloon (LJ 3/15/72), Randall makes no effort at autobiography except in passing comments. The chapter headings group stories in general categories, such as touring stories, fans, practical jokes, etc. The tales are simply strung together, each one funnier than the last. The stories are often gossipy, sometimes scandalous, and always hilarious. The lack of continuity may bother some readers, but this is a great book for browsing. Definitely a laugh a minute.
