In my next book, THE SWEETEST THING, I decided to make my heroine, Faith Christopher, a French Pastry Chef. I came up with the idea while visiting a commercial bakery with my daughter's girl scout troop. (Sometimes those school trips really pay off.) Once I had my heroine in mind it was easy to come up with a hero, Alex Carrigan, who absolutely hates sugar and spice and everything nice. To make Alex's life even more complicated, I added in a troublesome grandfather in search of a lost love, a rebellious teenager and a romantic adventure to the mystical holy grounds of Arizona.
