Excerpt from Der Herr in den Nebeln: Gedichte

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book of poems, written during and in the wake of the First World War, is the author's first published work. The poems capture his sensory experiences and emotional state of mind during the war, his reflections on mortality, and the destruction of the landscape. Influenced by Expressionism and Symbolism, the author's writing is rich with evocative imagery, particularly drawn from the landscapes of Germany and Italy. The war is vividly depicted, but the collection also explores the contradictory emotions of living through a profound moment in history. The poems give voice to the anguish and loss of the authorâs generation while finding momentos of natural beauty and moments of personal triumph amidst the upheaval. The author's body of work is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in a time of widespread cultural and personal disruption.
