Excerpt from The Oberlin Alumni Magazine, Vol. 15: November, 1918
The introduction of a unit of the Students' Army Training Corps into Oberlin College has brought about a number of apparent changes in college policy, changes far - reach ing enough to suggest to alumni and other interested observers that under the stress of war the college is undergoing a profound and per manent transformation. I do not think that this is necessarily true, and I am glad to accept the invita tion of the editor of the Alumni Magazine to give my view of the situation as it now exists.
