Excerpt from Exsection of the Hip-Joint
On May 3oth, Drs. Watts and Mason assisting, the patient was etherized, and the head of the femur removed, the bone being divided just above the trochanter minor. The shaft of the femur at this point was perfectly healthy. The wound was stuffed with lint and extension applied.
