The study of the reactions, in which there occurs a shifting of the nitrogen atom in parasulphaminebenzoic acid, has been carried on in this laboratory since 1889, when Remsen and Dohme1 showed that by the action of phosphorus pentachloride on benzoic sulphinid, orthochlorbenzoic nitrile wfgs formed.
