The ash fusion data were Obtained according to specifications D 271 - 3311 (modified 1938) in a Barrett ash fusion furnace. The ash analyses were made in accordance with procedures out lined by Hillebrand and Lundell12 and Washington13 for the analysis of silicate rocks.

Ash fusion values, together with values for ash, sulfur, and weight per cent are given in tables 2 to 13 and figures 2 to 11.
