Excerpt from Longmans' Advanced French Unseens: With Notes And Vocabulary
The issue of a Teachers' Edition with additional notes is, I believe, a new feature in English school - books, though the practice has long been followed in France. The intention is to supply the Teacher with material for discussing interesting and important points which may easily arise in his lessons, and also to enable him to supply, with very little trouble to himself, supple mentary information when in his opinion his class is likely to benefit by it.
I have included points like the agreement of même, the use of the negative after si, &c. (points which are not always fully treated in available grammars), as well as the exact meaning and use of common synonyms.
