Die folgenden Blätter geben im Wesentlichen den Inhalt eines Vertrages wieder, welchen ich bei Gelegen heit einer von der Leipziger juristischen Facultät zu Ehren Waechter's veranstalteten Gedächtnissfeier am 29. Februar 1880 in der Aula der Universität gehalten habe. Es ist nur die Einleitung weggelassen und es sind einige Ausführungen hinzugefugt werden, welche damals wegen Beschränktheit der mir zu Gebote stehen den Zeit unterdrückt werden mussten.
