Guillaume de Pnilanrens auteur môins partial mort vers la fin du XIII siecle, nous a donné dans sa chronique, qu'il finit à l'an 1272. Plusieurs circonstances interessantes touchant l'hére3ie et la guerre des Albigeois; et quoiqu'il ne soit pas tout - à-fait contemporain il pouvait en être très bien instruit tant parce qu'il étoit du paîs qu'à cause qu?il fut aumônier de Raymond VII. Comte de Toulouse. Nous avons collationné l'édition qui a été déja donnée de cette chronique sur un manuscrit de plus de 1100. Ans qui étoit le 261. De la biblio thèque du Roi. Nous avons fait usage des variantes de ce manuscrit, qui est fort bon pour corriger plusieurs fautes ent'r'autres dans les noms propres et pour remplir quelques lacunes. Nous avions même le dessein de donner une nouvelle édition de cette chronique; mais de crainte de trop grossir nos Preuves nous avons crû devoir la laisser pour la collection des historiens de France, que Dom Martin Bouquet fait imprimer actuellement.
