Noch ehe ich im Stande war, den zweiten Band erscheinen zu lassen, wurde eine zweite Ausgabe des ersten dringend verlangt. Ich dürfte hieraus zunachst nur entnehmen, dafs ein Forstinsectenwerk mit zahlreicheren Abbildungen einem sehr grofsen Publicun'1 Bedurfnifs oder doch willkommen sei, namentlich auch vielen Naturforschern und wissenschaftlich gebil deten Landwirthen und Gärtnern. Zahlreiche gunstige Beurtheilungen in zoologischen so wohl wie auch forstlichen und landwirthschaftlichen J ournalen lassen mich glauben, dafs auch die Art der Bearbeitung beifällig aufgenommen und dafs zugleich allgemein anerkannt worden sei: wie bei der grofsen Kostspieligkeit des Unternehmens auch der fur das Buch gestellte Preis ein sehr mafsiger genannt werden müsse.
