Synopsis
An account of the origins and development of the RAF from its formation as the army's Royal Flying Corps through its evolution into a permanent and independent service. It reveals evidence about the RAFs organization, strategy and preparedness for the Battle of Britain. John James spent 32 years as a psychologist working with the RAF and has drawn on many overlooked facts and figures to dispel some myths about the RAF. He also traces the careers and influence of the service's founding fathers.
