Born in Cabin Row, Tennessee, J.J.R. Ramey, began writing at the age of nine. Ramey attended Austin Peay State University where he was member of the basketball and track squads. He majored in Biology and Public Speaking and went on to become a disk jockey at all three local radio stations in Clarksville, Tennessee. J.J. eventually worked in radio in Nashville, Daytona Beach, and Orlando, Florida. Ramey's ambition led him to New York City where he continued his radio career and attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the John Strasberg Acting School, and the HB Studio under Herbert Berghoff in Greenwich Village. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree from The College of New Rochelle in New York. J.J.R. joined the Screen Actors Guild and did background acting work in over 60-major motion pictures, television shows and a soap opera. He wrote West of Paradise Run as Book One of a 6-part western fiction series and has written other books for which he is seeking publication. Ramey's travels to Africa inspired him to write some of his books. Currently, J.J. spends time writing at his Pocono Mountain home in Pennsylvania and maintaining his news and entertainment website. In addition to his writing, he also freelances as a radio news anchorman at two major New York City stations, teaches a radio broadcasting course, and is a motivational speaker. He will travel to Italy and the Far East, and document his journey in print and electronic media.
