The First Commandment: People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centred. Love them anyway.
These commandments were first written down by Kent M Keith for student leaders in the 1960s. Over the following years, they spread via word-of-mouth and became greatly valued - adopted by people far and wide, including Mother Teresa. Now, for the first time, Keith's inspiring commandments appear in this life-changing book - with each principle illustrated with inspiring stories from his own life, as well as classic examples from history.
They offer a way of living far removed from the lifestyle that strives for the popular symbols of success - wealth, power and fame. Instead, these ten rational principles focus on the enriching personal meaning that comes through living our lives selflessly and without recognition. Through accepting the Paradoxical Commandments and the paradoxical life we are each truly free to be who we are really meant to be.
