Review

I would whole-heartedly recommend to every department and probably to every student too the updated Practice in Physics. This is an excellent book, with a fantastic wealth of questions to develop confidence and understanding. It is expanded from the last edition to include a really useful section called "practising calculations" and one on synoptic questions. (TES 2001-04-01)

The previous editions of this book have been used very successfully...The new edition presents the questions in a more accessible format with many questions better structured..... Practice in Physics is an excellent support text for AS/A2 level students.... A class set or an individual copy for the student would be an excellent investment. Synopsis

This text provides pupils with practice in answering physics questions. The book can be used from the start of the advanced level course, leading the student from simple applications of concepts through to full understanding of the the topics covered. Although the first edition was written to accompany "Physics", a core textbook, this edition is intended as a stand-alone text. The contents have been updated to take into account the syllabus changes that have occurred since the last edition and the book matches the A Level course which is to be taught from September 2000. Differentiated sections show which questions are aimed at AS Level and which at A2 and a "what you should know" box is presented at the beginning of each new topic to indicate what students should have covered before starting the section. Synoptic style questions, a feature of the A Level course, are included in this edition.
