Synopsis
This is a balanced gender-inclusive version of the New International Version of the Bible, which concentrates on four key principles: accuracy of the original text to the original languages, beauty of expression, clarity of words and meaning, and dignity of expression. It balances fidelity to the original languages with the need to use English which is readily understood by today's readers. Patriarchal language has been revised without distorting the intentions of the original texts. Where the original languages refer to persons of either sex as masculine, the text has been revised. However, descriptions of God remain masculine, as do references to Satan and angels.
