John has worked throughout further, adult and higher education in a range of roles over the last thirty years. In the past ten years he has designed a number of courses aimed at enhancing teaching and learning for new and experienced academics and teachers in higher education. His previous works include Working in Post-Compulsory Education (Open UP, 2003) and Supporting Higher Education in College Settings (SEDA, 2014). He is a principal fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a fellow of the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA).
