Synopsis
Assessment for learning is a powerful way to raise standards and improve learning. - Suggests practical approaches to introducing more discourse into the classroom
- Explores the ideas of assessment for learning – rich questioning and dialogue, effective feedback, and peer and self assessment – and suggests how these can be used effectively in mathematics classrooms to improve learning

About the Author
Clare Lee – Teacher Advisor for Assessment; Warwickshire LEA.Clare has taught Mathematics in Secondary Schools for over 20 years. She was the Research Fellow on the recent KMOFAP project researching Assessment for Learning in Mathematics and Science. She is now advising teachers in Warwickshire on using and improving Assessment for Learning.
