Synopsis

* How can schools and LEAs best deploy their available resources to meet a wide range of learning needs efficiently and effectively?

* Is collaboration between schools an effective way of meeting a wide range of learning needs?

* What types of collaboration are possible, and how useful are they?

This book analyses the current context within which schools are required to meet a diverse range of learning needs. Whilst competition and fragmentation appear to be key features of the current system, nevertheless there is growing evidence of widespread collaboration between schools which are working together to support pupils with a range of diverse needs. The authors draw on their recent research to illustrate the variety of collaborative arrangements which exist and make some recommendations for the future organization of schools and services to support a more inclusive education system.
