About the Author
Robert Burgess is Director for the Centre for Educational Development, Appraisal and Research and Professor of Sociology at the University of Warwick. He has engaged in a range of projects concerned with postgraduate education and training and is the founding Chair of the UK Council for Graduate Education. He is a member of the Economic and Social Research Council and its Postgraduate Training Board.
