Synopsis
This is a study of how business interacts with parties, politicians and bureaucrats to defend its interests in a variety of western democracies. The way in which businesses attempt to protect their interests in modern societies varies significantly from country to country and from one time period to another. This second edition has been revised to take into account the triumph of market ideas in the 1980s, and a new chapter on Italy has been added. The book is largely aimed at undergraduate courses in politics, political sociology and business studies.
