The guests at Haworth Hotel rose late on New Years' Day - except for the guest in Annexe 3, who was lying dead on the blood-soaked bed. Inspector Morse's inquiries turned up a series of confusing identities among the remaining guests. And how had the hotel's booking confirmation been delivered by the Royal Mail to a non-existent address?

About the Author
Colin Dexter won many awards for his novels including the CWA Gold Dagger and Silver Dagger awards. In 1997 he was presented with the CWA Cartier Diamond Dagger Award for outstanding services to crime literature. Colin's thirteenth and final Inspector Morse novel, The Remorseful Day, was published in 1999. He lived in Oxford until his death in 2017.

The book is very good, with a few spots on the endpapers and a little bumped at the bottom corners and foot of spine. The dustwrapper is very good,colours bright,sharp and unfaded, with wear at the corners from rubbing, and a small fairly feint stain on the edge of the back panel.
