Ronald Stuart Thomas (29 March 1913 - 25 September 2000), published as R. S. Thomas, was a Welsh poet and Anglican priest who was noted for his nationalism, spirituality and deep dislike of the anglicisation of Wales. This is the first collection of poems from R S Thomas since the publication of Later Poems 1972-1982. Critics wrote: R S Thomas is our best living religious poet and one of the two or three finest poets now writing in Britain. These new poems will reinforce his reputation as a major poet of our time.
