Excerpt from The Outlook, Vol. 16: July-August, 1967
The mythological framework of Christology has never been entirely discarded by Bultmann or many Of his disciples. One major problem which developed in the New Testament with the confusion Of history and myth was the docetic tendency which threatened the historicity Of the revelation. Although, since Copernicus, the Babylonian cosmology is untenable, contem porary Christology must begin with an interpretation Of the mythological form in which Jesus is presented as the Son of God.
