Excerpt from The Law of Fire Insurance, Vol. 1 of 2: Vol 1. As a Valid Contract in Event of Fire and Adjustment of Claims Thereunder; Vol. 2. As a Void Contract, and in Both Volumes the Conditions of the Contract as Affected by Construction, Waiver, or Estoppel
The first volume has now been altered, revised, and re printed, so that in both volumes the cases and statutes of the various States are inserted so far as published to about the middle of August, 1905. As the sessions of the appellate courts are not usually resumed before October, and their decisions published before the latter part of that month, the entire work is now up to date. The blanks to be occasionally found indicate that the case is not yet published in the official State report.

The work delves deeply into the legal principles governing interest or title, use or occupation, as well as other miscellaneous provisions not covered elsewhere. By examining the nature of duties imposed by contract on the insured and the insurer, and their interplay with legal rules, the author aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the complex dynamics of fire insurance contracts and their interpretation by courts.
