Filter-tipped cigarettes continue to gain popularity in West Germany.
In June 1961, about 73 percent of total cigarette sales were filter tips. This compared with an average of about 68 percent in 1960.
Cigarettes selling at the equivalent of about MM cents per package of 20 continue to dominate the German market. They account for about four fifths of all cigarettes smoked.
