Thirty individuals of each species were placed in the test cages for the adult insects. Separate cages were filled with 11 cubic centimeters of the appropriate kind of grain infested with immature rice weevils. The insect test cages were probed into the grain-filled cylinders through holes located in the cylinder walls halfway between the two ends.
