The potential reactivity of the chert samples was tested according to the procedure outlined in astm C 289 except that 100 to 140 U. S. Mesh size (105 to 149 u) was substituted for the 50 to 100-mesh size specified in C 289 because only a small amount of homogeneous sample material was available.
