The area of child development continues to grow, and new insights into the processes, as well as a better understanding of the social and cultural forces that shape development, are continually being introduced. As someone who provides health care for children and reassurance for their parents, this book is one you will not want to be without. Organised according to the child's age, this informative, dynamic text takes you from the neonatal visit and newborn exam all the way through the late adolescent years. Additional chapters include special families (single-parent, blended families), dealing with stress (separation, loss), and resources for parents, including many found on the Internet. Make the most out of each child's visit with this new edition of "Encounters with Children."
