About the Author

Jeffrey Perloff was trained as an economist at the University of Chicago and at MIT. He taught microeconomics at MIT and the Wharton School of Business before moving to the University of California, Berkeley, where he teaches today.

Perloff has conducted exhaustive research within economics, and his articles have appeared in esteemed publications, including the International Economic Review, the Review of Economic Studies, and Econometrica. He has also published several works in psychology journals.

In addition to teaching and research, Perloff has served as consultant and advisor to government agencies such as the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Federal Trade Commission.
