Synopsis

About the Author

Vasquez, a copy editor at the St. Petersburg Times, was formerly a copy editor at the Miami Herald and the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Before that, he was a counselor for at-risk high school students and a mental health technician on a psychiatric ward, experiences that inform his writing to this day. He has also earned an MFA in creative writing from Florida International University in Miami. Ian was raised in Belize, the setting for In the Heat.
