Synopsis
When Bertie, a browbeaten son of Britain's upper crust, wants to marry the feminist next door, his mother, Augusta, the ultra-snobby Langham matriarch, forbids their union. The tides turn, however, with the introduction of Zhenia Dashkova, the mysterious Russian princess in possession of the Dashkov family emeralds. About the Authors
Elizabeth Palmer has published several previous novels with St. Martin's Press, including The Golden Rule, Flowering Judas, Old Money, Plucking the Apple, Scarlet Angel and The Dark Side of the Sun. Working as a graphic designer from the age of seventeen, Elizabeth wrote her first novel in 1992, and has since written six additional books. She and her husband live in London.
