Book Description
The readings in the Student's Book offer a wide range of choices in terms of subject, genre, culture, gender, point of view, length, style, and theme, and yet lend themselves well to comparison, both within and across genres. These selections represent a number of diverse fields, including fiction and poetry, anthropology, education, biology, psychology, and business. The text also offers a variety of writing assignments, including a field research project. It includes guidelines for summarizing, paraphrasing, quoting, documenting sources, and editing.
