Synopsis
Barely scraping by as a messenger in his delicensed cab, jack-of-all-trades Fitzroy Maclean Angel decides to accept a more lucrative part-time job with a jumpy young man named Tigger. Hired to drive a van to remote spots while Tigger unloads cargo that their boss simply calls "rubbish," Angel tries to ignore his misgivings and enjoy the extra money.
But when Tigger disappears with the van and Angel is enlisted to track him down, it's clear that something more is at stake than taking out the trash. As he follows a trail that grows fainter and more dangerous by the day, Angel learns more than he ever wanted to know about dive bars, the odd habits of his New Age neighbors, and the harshness of life on the London streets. This time, Angel may need more than his sharp wit to save his own life.

Mike Ripley is the two-time winner of the Crime Writers Last Laugh award, and the author of several thrillers and historical novels.
