A comprehensive portrait of Hitler's long-time mistress challenges popular depictions while profiling the bourgeois existence she shared with the Führer out of the public eye, drawing on newly discovered documents and anecdotal accounts to discuss such topics as her role as his trusted confidante, her position in his entourage and their double suicide two days after their marriage.
