My chief aim was to keep people from becoming victimized.
In writing this book, my chief aim was to keep people from being victimized by situations which they could have otherwise avoided. It is based on years of experience in working with thousands of people with AIDS while heading the legal services division of GMHC, Inc. in New York during the early years of the epidemic. I interviewed many other lawyers who are experts and who are also wonderful people, who continue in the struggle against all forms of oppression represented so well by the HIV epidemic. The material is meant to help not only people who have HIV, but their families and the people who must work with them, physicians, nurses and yes, even lawyers. Best wishes.
