Synopsis
To pave the way for the Allied liberation of France, spies and resistance fighters were ordered (in Churchill's words) 'to set Europe ablaze'. The 'Jedburgh' teams were created in 1943 to do just that. It was the first modern multi-national combat unit: American, British and French soldiers combined to form a unique special forces organisation. They fought in uniform, behind German lines, and played a key role in the Allied victory in 1944. Roger Ford has tracked down survivors and their after-action reports to tell their amazing story: classic 'behind the lines' real life action.

About the Author
Roger Ford, with a background in computing and information technology dating from the mid-1960s, is a relative late-comer to military history. He is the author of dozens of works in the field of military technology and weapons systems, including THE GRIM REAPER, a highly acclaimed account of the development and employment of the machine gun. He lives in rural southern France.
