Along the way, Jake remembers many of the national figures he has known, including perhaps the two most significant in his career - Lyndon Johnson and John Connally. About the Author

Jake Pickle (1913-2005) served in the United States House of Representatives from December 1963 until January 1995. Peggy Pickle is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in many magazines and newspapers,
