Ali is one of the most famous characters of the Twentieth century, admired and loved all over the world, and a continuing inspiration to millions. Flip Schulke is one of the great sports photographers, whose work has been published in `Time’, `Newsweek’, `Sports Illustrated’. This book is a photographic classic, the cover photo is one of the most iconic images taken of Ali. Muhammad Ali’s legend was shaped in 1961―1964 in Miami when he trained with Angelo Dundee. It was here that the young boxer honed his boxing, and self-promotional, skills and became both a champion and a legend.
Flip Schulke recorded the transformation, with over 80 stunning photos of those three years the young Cassius Clay is captured intimately and reveals a personality of a rare charisma and extraordinary confidence.

About the Author
Flip Schulke is one of America's great photojournalists, and his work has appeared in 'Newsweek', 'Time' and 'National Geographic' among many other magazines. He was a close friend of Dr Martin Luther King and has the largest independent collection of civil-rights photographs in the world.
