Excerpt from The Windows of Calvary: Calvary Episcopal Church, Wadesboro, North Carolina; On the Occasion of the One Hundredth Anniversary of Worship in the Church at Wade and Brent Streets; The Sunday of the Resurrection, Easter Day, April 2, 1893-April 11, 1993
The stained glass windows in Calvary Church are many and marvelous. The art alone justifies the windows but the religious symbolism transposes them to yet another and higher realm. The windows tell the great salvation story as depicted in the Bible. The story starts with the window at the front of the nave on the pulpit side of the church and traces the Bible story around the nave, ending with the window at the front of the nave on the lectern side of the church. The windows in the choir and sanctuary areas of the chancel have their own story, as do the windows in the transepts and the narthex. Each story is told in turn.
