Excerpt from 22d Report of the State Geologist, 1902
This lake occupied the upper Oneida valley, covering the sites of Stockbridge and Munnsville villages, which were under 500 feet of water. Judging from the map the outlet was near White's Corners, over a mile south of Pratt's Hollow, with a hight of about 1170 feet, and leading to the Chenango river. The later escape of the Oneida waters was across the north end of Eaton hill, the effects of which will be described later.
