Nam non solum singula nerba aut sententiae ita corruptae sunt ut de medela saepe paeno desperandum sit, sed etiam toti quaterniones foliaque aha omissa, alia inter se con mutata falsoque loco posita sunt. Ita factum est, ut eorum im peratorum vitae qui a Gordiano tertio usque ad Valerianos imperium obtinuerunt totae cum primis ipsorum Valerianorum oapitibus perirent, in eis autem nitis quae secuntur extremae uitae Valeriani iunioris aliquot litterae, plurimae primar_um capitum Gallienorum detritae, ut uidetur, euanescerent.
